It is my pleasure to announce that OpendTect v3.0.1 (beta) is now
available for downloading from the usual site at <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.opendtect.org">www.opendtect.org</a>. <br>
<br>
This is a major new release with many interesting new capabilities.
Highlights are:<br>
<ul>
<li> 2D viewer for inlines, crosslines and 2-D lines</li>
<li> 2D horizon tracking + 3D horizon generation</li>
<li> Annotations (text, images, arrows) including hyperlinks</li>
<li> Wavelet support (import, generation, convolve attribute)</li>
<li> Flattened scenes</li>
<li>Random line position storage</li>
<li> Horizon algorithms: snapping, filtering, interpolation</li>
<li> Pre-stack data load and view</li>
<li> Auto-load sessions</li>
<li> Load crossline sorted data from SEG-Y or Simple file</li>
<li> Qt4-based, new look</li>
<li> Possibility to use custom icon sets</li>
<li> Trace match attributes for aligning volumes (4D, Multi-azimuth,
RNMO)</li>
</ul>
Window users are informed that there is an annoying bug in this
version. The graphics scene disappears when you try to shift the scene
laterally (View mode, middle-mouse drag, or left-right keyboard
arrows). The scene can be restored by clicking the counter arrows
right-left, or pressing the view icons. A work-around for lateral
shifts is click S followed by left-mouse click. We are working with
SIM, the developers of the underlying COIN graphics library to solve
this bug.<br>

In a approx. 1 month this beta version will replace v2.4 to become the
new stable release. <br>
